Product Description
The turbine extraction column is a specialized variant of the rotating disc contactor (RDC), consisting of five main components: the oil-water separator (upper and lower sections), the column body, the turbine agitation system, the feed/discharge system, and the electrical control system. The inner diameter and height of the column are custom-designed based on the client's process requirements and material characteristics.
The inner wall of the column is equipped with multiple stationary rings spaced at specific intervals, while turbine impellers are mounted on the central shaft. The mixing unit comprises these stationary rings and turbine impellers, where the stationary rings partition the column into distinct mixing zones. Within each zone, the turbine impellers provide vigorous mixing to achieve interphase contact.
During operation, the light phase enters from the column bottom while the heavy phase is fed from the top, enabling countercurrent flow. Upon completing the extraction process, the light phase exits from the top outlet and the heavy phase discharges from the bottom.
This extraction column is suitable for all liquid-liquid extraction processes and can also facilitate staged chemical reactions, whether mass transfer is involved or not.
